Vale Luis Neto, also known as Vale dos Netos, is a village located in the heart of the Caldeirão Mountains, near National Road No. 2. This peaceful locality was inhabited by 17 families comprising approximately 75 individuals. After the 1970s, the population began to decline.

There were several clusters of houses, such as Monte dos Pachecos, dos Brazes, dos Costas, dos Marianos, Pontalinho, ti Maria Domingas' house, Ti António da Menta's house, and finally, Monte do ti Pires and Ti Maria José's house. All these people were engaged in agriculture, some with more financial means than others.

Within this housing cluster, we find the present-day Monte do Vale Luis Netos – Retiro do Caldeirão, a property where the owner's grandparents, Manuel Pires Rodrigues, were born. It was built by their grandparents in the 19th century and reconstructed by their grandfather Pires in 1918.

In 2019, the desire to breathe new life into those houses, which were deteriorating and nearly abandoned, where many people lived and worked, was born. In 2021, the renovation/restoration began, with a focus on preserving the original facades as well as the interior.
